Our Exclusive One Day Bird Handling Experience means that it is "Exclusive" to your group and your group only, on the day's session with us. We have accommodated birthday parties, driving instructors, photography groups, company corporate days out and even a stag day! Generally the day follows the format for the one day experience, but as it just your group we will try and cater for any of your requirements.
This Experience gives people the chance to handle and fly a number of different species of birds of prey at the centre. After tea/coffee participants will be given a guided tour of the centre where they will see a large variety of species from the Kestrel to the large and impressive Cape Vulture, they will also be encouraged to ask the falconer any questions about the birds. They will then fly at least 5 birds in the arena at the centre, as we swap the birds around flown on the Experiences we cannot say which birds exactly you will fly but it tends to be a Kestrel, Buzzard, Harris Hawk, Caracara and different species of owls. After lunch they will be taken out into the local woodlands where they will be able to fly and watch a hawk in its natural habitat. This experience is totally different to the morning, where the birds do the minimum for their food! The day culminates back at the centre where they will get the chance to fly at least one of our larger birds: an Eagle or a Vulture.
The day commences at 10.15am with tea/coffee and biscuits and finishes after 4pm. Tea/coffee provided throughout the day and a snack lunch is included in the cost. No age restrictions as this a private group
The group size can be up to 6 people, but can be smaller if you wish.

Frequently asked questions about our Exclusive One Day Experience
How often do you run the Experiences and how far ahead do I need to book a date?
We run all the experiences throughout the year and on various days to suit demand (weekend and weekdays). We operate on a first-come, first serve basis for all dates.To book a date we generally say as far in advance as possible, but occasionally we can accommodate people at short notice if places are available. Weekend dates are the most popular and can book up very quickly at certain times of the year. To book a date please call us on 01562 700014 (9am-5pm, 7 days a week).
Please Note: We do sometimes book a long way ahead on some of our other Experiences, and for this experience there has to be no other people booked on, so if you require a weekend date it may be advisable to book a long way in advance.
I have paid online, how long does it take to receive the voucher?
We will email the voucher to you within 2 days of the payment. If you have requested a printed voucher, please allow at least 7 days for delivery.
How do I book a specific date when I pay for the voucher?
Unfortunately there is no way to book a date online, so if you wished to book a date when you purchase the experience, please call us to pay and book the date. If you prefer not to pay by card over the phone then you can arrange the date with us over the phone first and then pay online above.
Can we take photographs?
Students on our bird handling experiences are welcome to bring their own camera/ video cameras to take photographs during their time with us. Flash is also not a problem for the birds.
What happens if the weather is bad on the date of my experience?
We will run the experiences in most weather conditions, but we also want you to enjoy your experience. If the weather is predicted to be bad before your booked date, you can rearrange a new date.

** Please note: Hard copy vouchers will be sent out by second class post via Royal Mail. Vouchers will be sent to the address given on the purchaser's PayPal payment form, so please ensure that your details are up-to-date. Vouchers will still be sent via e-mail in addition to any requested hard copies. If this question is left unanswered no hard copy of the voucher will be sent out.
